Aisha Novakovich started life as Nancy. Her Yugoslav Orthodox father and Indonesian Muslim mother arrived in Australia to the opal town of Coober Pedy when Aisha was six weeks old. Very quickly there were three little sisters and shortly after her Dad passed away, leaving her mother, who had little English, alone and destitute. Those circumstances were the beginning of the building of a most resilient, optimistic and inquisitive human being.
