Aisha Novakovich started life as Nancy.  Her Yugoslav Orthodox father and Indonesian Muslim mother arrived in Australia to the opal town of Coober Pedy when Aisha was six weeks old.  Very quickly there were three little sisters and shortly after her Dad passed away, leaving her mother, who had little English, alone and destitute.  Those circumstances were the beginning of the building of a most resilient, optimistic and inquisitive human being.  In this interview AIsha touches on her dalliance with radicalisation and her deep contemplation of Islam.

In a remarkable and candid conversation, trans man Nick Lawrence shares his story, leading from refusal to wear feminine clothes as a little child, to coming out as a lesbian in her teens while pursuing a career as a motor mechanic and finally realising that transition was the only way forward.  After finding it difficult to get support and answers around his transition, Nick started Transmen of WA, a project that takes up more of his time than his full time job.

Major Margaret MacDonald’s story is a modern story of vocation, of giving one’s life to God’s work by rolling up sleeves and getting amongst the marginalized in the community.  That’s the Salvation Army way.
